5 photography things that are worth sharing!

Hey, y'all...

Here are 5 things related to photography that I thought would be worth sharing:

Am sure most photo enthusiasts would know that Adobe Lightroom just dropped its game-changing updates. All of us who use Lightroom regularly are thrilled with the new features, but I guess it will bring in a lot of changes in your usual workflow. Like I have been using the Calibration module regularly now. In fact, I start with that, then move to the global adjustments and finish with local adjustments. Listing down the updates which I felt were quite relevant for better edits:

  • Local Adjustments to give a lot more control - The panel has been re-thought, re-laid out, and gives serious competition to Adobe's very own Photoshop

  • Automatically select subject and sky in the image - The AI-powered selection does a very good job and you can further refine the selection quite easily

  • Faster Batch Edits - Syncs like a charm, batch edits are much faster now

  • Premium Presets - Works quite well as a starting point.

Since I was talking about editing, I usually listen to a lot of relaxing music while I am at it. Thought of sharing a few channels on YouTube that am quite fond of:

Once you are done with the editing, you are probably going to post it on Instagram. Have you ever wanted to use your laptop for uploading photos on Instagram or is it just me? Somehow all the juggads I tried before failed, failed miserably! Mostly the issue was with image compression. A month back I came across a video talking about a Google Chrome Extension called Inssist. I ended up watching the video and started using it. Must say it works much better than anything I used before. Doesn't make my photos look sucky. Also, makes your hashtag organization quite easy. Give it a try, till it's free!

Most of the new age tripods come with an Arca Swiss Plate but some of us who are stuck with old gears have a tough time setting up our cameras for vertical crops or portrait orientations. Well, a simple L Bracket can make your life so much easier. I don't know why I didn't get this mod done earlier! My Manfrotto Live Free Tripod is otherwise a super handy travel companion but has that problematic ball head.

Upgrading it to an Arca Swiss Plate and a solid L Bracket was totally worth it!

The last one is more of a tip when you are slightly unsure and in doubt about what to click. I always ask myself - Is that photo worth keeping? If the answer is yes, I usually take that photo! Simple right...?

Thanks for reading! Comments are open to all for the next few weeks, so feel free to share if anything was useful to you...
